Night Quote and Analysis

Quote: " The bell. Already we must separate, go to bed. Everything was regulated by the bell. It gave me orders, and I automatically obeyed them. I hated it. Whenever I dreamed of a better world, I could only imagine a universe with no bells."(Wiesel 80).

Analysis: A lot of things command us in life. When we get up for school the alarm awakes us. When the bell rings at school it dismisses us. Elie was just like us, he did not like the idea of being a slave to everything. He did not like being a slave at all. The bell rang and he had to know what was to be done.

Quote: " I could here only the violin, and it was as though Juliek's soul were the bow. He was playing his life. The whole of his life was gliding on the strings his lost hopes, his charred past, his extinguished future. He played as he would never play again."(Wiesel 100).

Analysis: The song that Juliek played, one of Beethoven's sorrowful melodies showed the life of an Innocent boy among Innocent people. The feelings he had at that very moment to have played such a song. Glazing over dead tortured bodies trampled over themselves, gave him such feelings.

Quote and Analysis From Night

Quote: " I did not move. What had happened to me? My father had just been struck, before my very eyes, and I had not flickered an eyelid. I had looked and said nothing." (Wiesel 48).

Analysis: The fear that he experienced, wounded him like he would have been the one to get struck. The cruelty of the prisoners themselves toward other prisoners shows that they have forgotten who they are.

Quote: " I walked on with my father and the other men. And I did not know that in that place, at that moment, I was parting from my mother and Tzipora forever." (Wiesel 39).

Analysis: The pain Elie felt as he understood, the sorrow he had knowing that he was being separated from his comforter, his mother. I couldn't do without my mother she knows how to make the situation appear pleasant.

Quote Analysis

Quote: " Jews, listen to me! I can see a fire! There are huge flames! Its a furnace!" (Wiesel, 34).

Analysis: This is where the fifty year old woman yells at the people in the train foreshadowing the events that are going to take place at Auscgwitz.

Quote: " Without passion, without haste, they slaughtered their prisoners. Each one had to go up to the hole and present his neck. Babies were thrown into the air and the machine gunners used them as targets." (Wiesel, 16)

Analysis: These events that are happening reveals the internal conflict that the author had when he heard the man's story. The cruelty that the Germans possessed was foreshadowed to be repaid, and dealt with in the end.

Picture showing

The afternoon sun was beating down on us. My sisters and I stood at the top of this mountain only to gaze at the beautiful cliff below. The huge rocks that lay carelessly around the tremendous cliff, are not aware of the strong tides trying to take them under. They hold on to the towering wall, frightened to be claimed by the sea. The water being starved is furious and will not rest until it has defeated the magnificent.
The diminutive strips of land poke their heads up from the dark breathless cage. The water foaming with craze to see that the land is trying to escape, demolishes and tears it apart. The war between land and sea will not end very soon. The sun's flaming beams of light assists the water, blinding the wall so they can take it down when it's not looking. The piecfull grass on top of the cliff, is inattentive of the battle below and is a piece maker for those who hate.

Saving Face

Curley is very insecure of himself. He is always watching for his wife and trying to keep her in the house, because he thinks that her and slim are seeing each other secretly. His actions toward Lennie are very un thought out, he is very dumb for thinking he could beat him up. He thinks he is all that and can hurt someone if he wants to, he is also very full of himself. I try to avoid being a mean person, but i have met some people who are like that. My uncle thinks he knows everything and he doesn't care about people's feelings when he tries to correct them. People who have ever met him don't really like him, and try to avoid doing things for him. I think saving face is a reasonable human reaction, it gives people a taste of who they are dealing with. It can help make someones first impression positive or it can make people dislike the person.

The Perfect World?

Sometimes I think of how the world appears to some people. Usually I can tell by the expression on their faces or their everyday attitude. Sometimes you don't get the whole story from just looking and observing their actions. I would actually have to interview, and ask them all the unnecessary questions I could be asking myself. So how would I describe the perfect world? Maybe I would describe a perfect world from my life in reality or maybe from my personal wants and needs.

I would probably describe the perfect world from reality. I think a perfect world would start with a good leader. Someone who follows the rules by the bible. Also a world that does not use profanity. It would be nice to walk through the city without someone cussing in you face. Bartering should really come back into the picture! How could the prehistoric people go through their generation without money and this generation can't live without it?

A few Other things that would make the world perfect would be, to not get into any wars with other countries. It costs money for all the gear and protection the army needs, but if we get along with other countries we wouldn't be in so much debt, and more importantly there wouldn't be any more casualties.
The last thing that would make the world perfect, when everyone is equally accepted in thier own way. Someone could be so different and the other person would be making fun of him. On the inside everyone is built the same, everyone has a heart and with a heart comes feelings. That is the most important thing to becoming a perfect world, being equally accepted.
